Praise/Prayer update for 1/25/10

Christian Partners and friends of CrossView Church,

God has been gracious to our little church as we seek to build up our church and be a blessing to our neighbors and friends with the gospel. Yesterday God blessed us with the most we've had at a Sunday gathering, 44 people (11 kids, 11 church members, 6 members of other churches, and 16 who aren't members but are potentially members of our church or some other gospel-preaching church). We meditated on Mark 4.35-41 and 5.21-43 and considered the trustworthiness of Jesus Christ. We praise God for some going through our membership considered discussions, some unbelievers who heard the gospel from our church for the first time yesterday, and a handful who have been hearing the gospel regularly unfolded in either our Sunday gatherings or through personal conversations with some of our members. Here are some points for which we thank God and some points directing prayers for our church to our God who loves to give us good things for his glory and our good.

Things for which we thank God and praise his name:
  1. For the 6 who've expressed interest in joining CrossView and are having the membership considered discussions for the month of January.
  2. For the meditation on the Gospel of Mark and the effect it is having on our church and church friends who attend.
  3. For the sound system donated to us by various friends where we didn't have to spend a dime.
  4. For one of our friends who has decided to get baptized after hearing and learning the gospel for the past months with CrossView Church!
Things you may want to ask God on behalf of CrossView Church:
  1. The transformation of the church in seeing the glory of Jesus Christ through the preaching and meditation of the gospel according to Mark.
  2. The church to have wisdom and discernment and grace in considering some people for membership in February.
  3. Ask God that the explaining and proclaiming of the gospel would bear fruit in those who've been hearing the gospel on Sundays or in personal relationships.
  4. Ask the Lord of the harvest to send more partners to labor with us in sowing and harvesting in our part and relational web in Los Angeles and for future elders and church planters to be raised up.
  5. Ask God to provide our church's financial needs.
Thanks for praying!

For the gospel and glory of Jesus Christ,
PJ on behalf of CrossView Church LA
