How to Join a church (one example)

I post this as an example for CrossView's website in the future...

How to Join (at Mount Vernon Baptist Church)

Attend Our Gatherings

The first step in joining Mount Vernon is really simple - come to some of our gatherings. Attending a Shepherding Group before joining the church is a great opportunity to meet members in a small group setting. Most importantly, come to our Sunday morning gathering, which is the heart of our all of corporate gatherings. In addition, participating on Wednesday or Sunday evening is another opportunity to meet members.

Knowing MVBC

Attend our Knowing MVBC class. In this 4 session class, you will learn our commitments, beliefs, leadership structure, and how to be involved in discipling and service. It is hosted by members and taught by pastoral staff. This is also a great opportunity to ask any questions about the church.

Membership Interview

Once you have attended all four sessions in Knowing MVBC, a membership interview will be scheduled with Pastor Aaron and another Elder. In this interview you will get to share your testimony and ask any questions you may have about Mount Vernon.

Baptism

We are committed to believer's baptism. We believe that members of a local church are those that have given evidences of God's sovereign work in being born again and have been baptized upon their profession of faith and repentance towards Christ. If you have not been baptized as a believer, then baptism would be required  Contact us to learn more.

Church Vote

After a membership interview, you will be presented to the congregation at one of our members' meeting. Pastor Aaron will give a summary of your testimony and then the congregation will vote.
